Plants of this variety are excellent for beginners but are also loved by horticulture enthusiasts because of their beauty and diversity. This article discusses beautiful Aglaonema varieties to show you the wonderful options available.
Chinese Evergreens are super popular, and they have been hybridized into a large number of cultivars. Their colors and exotic hues are everywhere, making it difficult to pick one favorite.
Aglaonema Maria
These are beautiful lance-shaped leaves with a bright tropical touch that form dense clumps in this Aglaonema variety.
There are several cream-colored or pale green markings on its thick foliage, giving it a distinct, eye-catching appearance. These plants can be kept in a large planter to create lush greenery inside your home. You can also combine them with colorful Aglaonema varieties to mimic a tropical rainforest.
Note that this plant will tolerate lower light than other Aglaonema varieties on this list because it isn’t as brightly colored as those whose leaves are predominantly red, pink, or white.
If you locate your Aglaonema plant in low light, it will become dimmer and lose its vibrant colors, so watch your plant for any signs of wilting and move it to an open area with brighter light.
Aglaonema Red Anjamani
Looking to spice things up, but don’t want to spend a lot of money on eclectic art? Put your red Aglaonema Anjamani in a small pot as a tabletop centerpiece and see how much its presence alters the ambience of your home.
Aside from its incredible bright red foliage with a few dark green spots and borders, this gorgeous houseplant also keeps its vibrant hue all year long, unlike the equally stunning poinsettias.
The striking red coloring of this plant is brought out by placing it in metal containers with dark bases like black or silver. You will be amazed at how it transforms the ambiance of your space.
Aglaonema Siam Aurora
It’s a mix of sass, elegance and color, and we call it Aglaonema Siam Aurora! It is a relatively new Aglaonema that features deep-green hues elegantly patterned with brilliant red or pink tones.
A small pot or medium container with this lovely multi-colored plant along with some side tables will enhance the ambience of your living space. Better yet, make a feature of your impeccable sense of style with a densely-foliaged Aglaonema Siam Aurora as a floor plant next to a sofa.
It will love the surplus humidity in your bathroom – especially if you have a smaller version near the window!
Aglaonema Bidadari
Large glossy oval-shaped leaves spotted with pink, green, and cream colors, made the Aglaonema Bidadari the perfect accent plant for home décor.

Aglaonema Modestum
With leaves as big as a football, waxy and shiny, the Aglaonema Modestum is a popular foliage plant loved for its deep, waxy green coloration.
I am not aware of any other Aglaonema that is available in a non-variegated form, pictured above. It is among the non-variegated Aglaonema that I am familiar with.
Aglaonema Green Papaya
This striking beauty known as the Aglaonema Green Papaya can effortlessly add a touch of elegance to any space – a modern living room, a cozy study, an intimate bedroom setting or a formal office setting.
This foliage plant has deep-green leaves with a blush of pink running down the center and predominantly green, dappled leaves. Its oval leaves are large and glossy and occur on short, clustered stems, which makes it a good foliage plant.
You may see flowers on your Green papaya occasionally, but it will not produce any fruit. It thrives both in brightly lit rooms and dimly lit rooms and prefers bright, indirect light.
Aglaonema Super White
In almost entirely white oval-shaped foliage with delicate green veining, the Aglaonema Super White plants are sure to blow up admirers of all things white and pristine.
With its pure whiteness, Aglaonema Super White is another cultivar that cannot tolerate low lighting due to the light colored leaves. Place this one near a window where possible, and do not expose it directly to direct sunlight.
It can typically grow up to 24 inches tall, so if you ever find one, do not miss the chance to add it to your collection. It is not very easy to find, so take advantage if you find one!
Aglaonema Pink Moon
Aglaonema has white veins with stunning pink veins running through the center of the leaf. It is a very rare and unusual variety. And as if all that wasn’t pretty enough, these leaves have tiny, pink moonlike spots all over them that are even more beautiful.
Your friends and family will surely be enthralled by the glossy leaves that emerge on short stems. The colorful foliage of this gorgeous plant thrives in locations with less than ideal lighting and needs weekly watering in the summer months.
Additionally, this plant requires little care when it comes to watering and humidity requirements, making it a great choice for new gardeners seeking a super attractive houseplant.
Aglaonema Harlequin
This particular Aglaonema variety has an intriguing color pattern and pink veins. I prefer Chinese Evergreens with striking coloration and sharp edges between colors, but Aglaonema has something for everybody’s taste.
It takes some time to differentiate all these Aglaonema varieties with confidence, even though they all look quite similar. Don’t worry if all these varieties seem overwhelming – I was in the same spot when I started collecting Aglaonemas.
Aglaonema White Rain
This aglaonema variety features subtle shades of green and cream, an interesting contrast to the more loud and brash Aglaonema Queen of the Forest. It is one of my favorites, because of its muted and serene appearance.
With it’s pleasant-looking foliage, Aglaonema White Rain won’t steal any attention in your home. In contrast to other Aglaonema cultivars, which show downward arching leaves near the pot during growth, this cultivar has slender, graceful leaf tips.

These are my favorite varieties of the Aglaonema genus. It isn’t an exhaustive list, but I’ve tried to feature some of the most outstanding Aglaonema houseplants out there.
Some plants on this list you won’t find everywhere, including the easier to find cultivars. However, some of the less common cultivars are much more difficult to find at all.
