Temperature
The snake plant is a tropical plant native to West Africa. This enables them to grow easily at any temperature from 55 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit (USDA Zones 8-11). Temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit are not conducive to their survival, since they are sensitive to cold.
Light
Lighting changes are not too difficult for snake plants. Whether semi-shaded or fully lit up, they can live in any environment. You can certainly set them outside on the patio or in the garden even though they prefer bright, indirect light.
It is best to keep them away from direct sunlight, as it can dry them out if they are exposed to it for several hours at a time. The two most common types of pests on snake plants are mealybugs and spider mites. In both cases, if they are not removed promptly, your snake plant can become wilted and sick. They can be treated with neem oil or rubbing alcohol, but the most common method is to apply it to the leaves.
