Let us hear Jack’s story

After a long day of work, I came home to find that my snake plant was growing out of its pot.

I could tell that the dirt had been too dry for some time and it needed to be removed so the roots would have more space.

I filled up a bowl full of water, grabbed a cup, pulled off one side of the sponge and put the other in with water.

I then took down my plants from their hanging baskets and set them on top of newspaper…

…where they were so that my floor wouldn’t get dirty while working on them.

One by one, starting at the left-most plant (since that’s how you read when looking at them)…

…I used the sides of each piece to scrape away as much dirt that contain in that leaves.

After 2 hours of wiping and cleaning, finally this snake plant back to his original appearance.

Moving houseplants to the kitchen sink or tub and hosing them down is the best way to clean them.

The leaves of the plant can be damaged by both hot and cold water.

If your plants are particularly filthy, spray them with a dilute soapy water mixture before rinsing them.

For every quart of water, use around 1/4 tablespoon dish soap. Small plants that are unable to withstand…

However, wiping down the leaves of a ZZ plant will take an eternity..

..because each stem has so many different little leaves on it.

• Wipe the leaves down with a damp towel. It might be a reusable cloth or a disposable paper towel. You might also use a dusting glove to make it easier to hold each plant leaf.
• Hold the leaf in one hand for support while wiping it down with the other.
• If you wish to speed up the process, sprinkle the plant with a small mist of water first. Simply moisten all of the leaves of the plant. After that, wipe everything down with a rag.

Spray your plants with a solution of water and one or two drops of dish soap for added cleaning power.

This will help break down grease, filth, and caked-on dirt more quickly. You must, however, make certain to remove…

…all of the water from the plant’s leaves, ensuring that no soap residue remains.

You’ll want to gently brush away the dust and dirt in this situation:

• Dust off the particles on each plant’s leaves with a little paintbrush. Yes, it is time consuming and tedious. But your plant will appreciate it!
• A cotton swab can also be used to gently remove dust and debris. Especially in the spaces between the leaves of any houseplant. Cotton swabs are ideal for cleaning delicate leaves like those on succulents.

Consider utilizing compressed air to clean plants with difficult-to-clean foliage, such as cactus.

A powerful blast of air can readily clear dust from prickly plants without injuring you!

Last but not least…

It’s simple to tidy up plants by removing their dead, brown, or yellowing leaves when they’re being washed.

Pick the leaf by hand if it comes loose quickly. Otherwise, scissors should be used.

Never pull a plant’s resistant leaves, and only prune browned leaf tips from plants that have been left too dry.

When cutting the leaves, follow the natural contour of the leaves for a more natural look.
