How to Propagate Snake Plant in Water
Tools needed:
- Knife or scissors that are sharp
- A thick glass, jar, or vase
- Water
How to cuttings:
- To plant the leaves you want to plant near the ground, cut them with scissors or a sharp knife. A clean, sharp cut will produce the best results. If you want to increase the success rate of your cuttings, it is best to cut them into a “V” at the underside of the leaves.
- Then place the underside of the leaves in the water, covering about 25% of the leaves.
- Alternatively, if the leaves of the snake plant are large, you can cut them into pieces and put each piece in the water.
- In the same position that the leaf was on the ground, place it in a glass of water. Snake plant roots will only grow in water if the tips of the leaves near the ground are submerged. When the leaves are positioned incorrectly, they will not grow new roots.

- Each section should have multiple roots.

- For several days, let the rhizome be exposed to air without touching soil or water.
